Birdy floor lamp grey/steel - Northern floor lamp

Design: Birger Dahl, 1952

Birdy is a floor lamp designed in 1952 in a modernist style. The lamp series was produced and distributed by the Norwegian electricity company Sønnico (Oslo) for many years. In 1954, the table lamp, then known under the name "s-30016", was awarded the highly regarded gold medal at the Milan Triennale.

In 2013, Northern decided to relaunch this design classic, while being careful to preserve the floor lamp's original shape and the highly functional features that made it such a popular lamp in the beginning. The lamp is very easy to use and can be used optimally as a reading lamp or for indirect lighting.
